A friend of mine is having trouble sourcing a head gasket for a NC24 (D) reg, as apparently they have discontinued making them so he was told.
So any chaps or chappet's know of a good place to source some bits. Even better, if the head is off could you make your own gasket? Cheers. |

Head gasket is quite hard to make, normal gaskets you can use paper, but I doubt it would work in head!
Try cometic. Might be a few quid though.

No way. Needs a flexible-ish substance as the pressures involved are massive. You could possibly cut a copper one if you can't get hold of a premade one.
What are standard? Eg SV uses 3 layers of steel with a sealant compound in between.

When I had a grey imports, Nightingales were more than helpful.
Still on the go? Used to fax up schematics for me to mark out parts. Maybe it was an accent thing, thinking about it! ![]() ![]() |

It might fit but it's not going to be identical as you can tell from the part no. The MR8 bit of the NC30 head gasket part no 12251-MR8-003 (89 NC30) / 12251-MR8-601 (90 NC30) means it was first used on the NC30 I'd try asking on http://www.400greybike.cc or phone up david silver spares Druid

BAT motorcycles down south used to be big importers of small 400cc Honda bikes and B&M imports in Preston too , my mate had a NC21 and went there regularly for parts

I think he buys up old stock, so has stuff for older bikes. I've used him before for some 400/4 bits ![]() |

But strangely I do...
The NC24 shares a lot of common parts with the NC21 not the NC30. But even here the head gasket is different between the models. Your friend would be after 12251-ML0-720 (the NC21 is either 12251-ML0-004 or 12251-ML0-014, not 100% of the difference between these as my Japanese ain't great; but thats not whats important right now). And I have the same number for the NC35 as the late model NC30 so thats out as well. As Druid says try over at 400GB or David Silver Spares |
