Let me prefix this with I have neither of these, but...
I've considered something like this myself, but after looking at them decided against it. Basically I don't think any of my bikes would be suitable for this type of lift as the lowest point will be the exhaust pipe and its not the best idea to lift one on this. So it depends what bike he has. Cruisers, MotoX, or cradle style frames are really what I would consider this for, so if hes got something like that then it sounds a good idea. |

In which case I'd say he'll find that useful. They look a lot more secure than the paddock stand and jack combination I use. The more I think about, the more I think I need one...

Couldn't pick between them. There's more detail on the GetGeared one but I like the cups on the M&P stand if they are removable, that way it could be used flat for engines and the cups could help clear an exhaust if there are frame rails.

just my 2 cents but the other 2nd one would probably be better , i say this because it has arms for the frame and most (that ive seen) engines dont have a flat bottom so while putting a engine in the frame it would sit right once in hth

I got different opinion. Maybe too late. i still think the Abba is the biz. Those flat plates that lift up are great for cruisers etc but not sure if they would fit 'real' bikes. If your other half fighters bikes then they are most likely all going to be ok with an ABBA stand, If it was a paddock stand it would be useless if he single sided a bike for example. I got my opinion and each to their own but an abba stand with a few adapters does most bikes.
