I enquired about one last year, as well as a letter they wanted to see copy of a city and guilds/similar qualification saying I was certified mechanic (which I'm not).

I have experience of the trade card - and it can save you a lot of money. Typically, tools down by up to 40%, and parts by anything up to 60%.

For example - pair of Bosch wiper blades for BMW 528i - £12.82 from £24.98

5L of semi-synth 10W40 car oil - £11.27 from £19.99

Oil Filter - £2.78 from £6.49

It still might be cheaper to buy online/from small local factors, but not as convenient as going to the big shiny orange shop.

I have one, They are good for some things, as Dan said, tools especially.

But for some stuff that you'd expect to use it for, well you can't. Like paint etc.

Car/Bike parts/tools all covered, and its worth having for that reason alone.
