Default Riding without rear torque arm fitted?

Hi orgers.

Torque arm's at the powder coaters and won't be ready until Tuesday because of the bank holiday . I've just fixed the bike and that's the only thing stopping me from riding .

Will I be okay riding the bike if I don't use any rear brake?

Can you guarantee you won't touch the rear brake? Do the pads not drag on the disk, even the slightest?

I wouldn't risk it mate.

no, no, no

Plus if you either got stopped or had an accident, the Police would do you for not having an operative rear brake.

Plus It'd probably invalidate your insurance

Thought as much. Really wanted to go on a rideout on Sunday but I won't bother now. So frustrating!

Do your powdercoating in the winter

If I'd known, I've got at least one spare torque arm in the garage

So I shouldn't have spent a week riding around without a rear caliper attached...

H'mm, well at least you wouldn't have wrecked your swingarm & caliper hanger as the original OP would have done, not to mention the trip to A&E or the morgue.

It's the bar just under the swing arm that connects the caliper to the frame. If you had one spare I couldve come collected it from you if you're nearby but I'm working all day tomorrow unfortunately . Cheers though. Will just have to wait till Tuesday.

I know I know, was a bit silly to even consider it but I haven't been on my bike for the best part of a month and I hate it.

I thought it would be alright providing I didn't use the rear brake but as said I can't really guarantee I won't use it by accident. Best off being patient I guess!
