Got me a promotion...
...at work today!! I had a chat with my boss yesterday about a few things, chiefly the fact that I want to progress within the Company and indeed the construction industry as a whole. I've been working for them since January this year as an excavator operator and groundworker and have been advising a ot of the foremen that I've worked under. Not teaching them to suck eggs but adding my experience to the job to help it go a bit more smoothly. Anyway, he told me that I was one of "the best machine ops that he'd seen" and that my supervisory skills were very good. He's going to pay for me to do my site managers CSCS ticket (around £750) as well as my machine ticket renewal.
Anyhoo, we left site today and were on our way back up the M5 when my phone rang. It was the boss, asking me if I would take over a site that we have in Portishead near Bristol!!? He said he needs someone there that he can trust to do the job correctly and bring it in on time and within budget!! I'm just soooooooooo chuffed. This time last year I was worried I might lose my house due to the downturn and now it looks like we may even be able to have a better Christmas this year. Chuffed to feckin'bits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  :chee rs:
