Must cover me on 2 bikes, preferably whatever I'm riding at the time.
Must also cover collection after accidents. Euro cover would be nice. Price obviously a factor, but not THE factor. Suggestions?

For the SV too, engines can go pop, tyres can shred, chains can snap. I never bothered getting any on my insurance this time as I've only been doing local stuff so could always just pop back and get a van.

Ive just took one out Chris with Swinton as an add on for my bikes insurance, it covers me for whatever im riding, driving etc, doesnt have to be owned by me either, so could be out with someone in their car as a passenger and say i was driving and it would be covered.
Think it costs £6 a month, i thought that was reasonable as i have 4 vehicles, van, car and 2 bikes so id be covered on all of them. |

Small print is the thing to look out for, a lot of the breakdown/repair clauses won't cover vehicles over 10 years old, I have E-Bike cover and there's won't cover my '98 D9.
I'm also with the AA, and as above they cover all vehicles in the family, four bikes, a 4wd, two corsas and owt any of us are passengers in. |

Hello Christopher my good, equally as balding and angry, friend.
First of all I must get myself to the 'fax to see you and make myself a cuppa soon. Secondly, I'm with the AA, £6 a month, covers me on any vehicle I'm in or on as long as it's 1/4 mile from home (not an issue with a bike because you can just push it round the corner!), not covered in Europe I don't think but I know it doesn't cost much to upgrade it. Now for the honest part. I took out AA cover because I locked my keys in the car on a sunday afternoon. Instantly covered, then called then back and told them I'd locked my keys in the car. The operator recon'd that's how they get 75% of their business. The second time I called the AA it was because I'd locked my keys in the car. And the third time, yup, I'd locked my keys in the car. I have now sold the car (no coincidence) |

Just a quick one before chris calls me a retard for those 3 occurences of locking my keys in the car.
Chris once spend a rather daft amount of time blowing up an air bed with the bung in the other end removed (East fortune, october 2010, I have witnesses) |

The AA do not cover for accidents. They will come out but will threaten to charge you, though in practice I've not personally seen this happen. They say that you are to claim this cost back through your insurance. I am no longer with the AA because of this.
The only thing I would advise is the level of cover. Not sure about euro cover but I have breakdown and recovery that will take me and my bike anywhere in the UK. If you just have breakdown most will just take you to the nearest garage. Not much use if you are 200+ miles from your garage. And yes I have put this to the test and been very happy with the level of cover I have. |

I pay RAC £9.79 a month and that covers me home, out and abroad for any bike or car im driving or passenger/pillion. Its also covers accidents so if im out on my own and chuck it down the road they'll come and scrape me and the bike up and get us home.
Expensive but total peace of mind as i ride alone a lot. |

+1 For the RAC,not cheap but all situations covered, breakdown or accident on any vehicle I am either driving or a passenger in.
No quibble service that I have used on the pick-up[sons]when driving and a recovery of the bike when I got taken off. I recon you get what you pay for with recovery/breakdown cover and the service is excellent so far. One of the things you buy and hope not to use but when you do it is reassuring to know you are covered. |
