Hello all
I'm going to purchase a Ducati 1198 subframe and a set of rear plastics. I'm wondering if any electrical experts could give me some advice. I'm going to get a number plate holder frabricated (Or maybe somehow use the tail tidy I have already) and integrate a rear light. Now bear with me on this next bit, I have absolutely NO electrical knowledge what so ever... If I was to buy a rear light (just imagine it's any old rectangle thing for now) would I simply be able to splice in the wiring from the loom on the bike to the new light, or is it much more complicated than that? |

No, it is very easy. Simple splice job as you state.

Don't think I need to, read a good few threads and it seems to be a straight weld on job. I do stand to be corrected though

instead of simply splicing, why not get a matching connector and crimps and make it neat and correct. get wiring diagrams for the pointy and the light from your bike of choice.
Theres nothing worse than twisted together wires or bullet crimps or butt connectors joining wires together. |

Dude, if you do this mod on the pointy, and it turns out as well as this guys, it will look great I think! Please do it. Good luck.
