Default Dont look down (ch 4)

Watching this has given me serious jellywobbles and I'm only half way through.
I can see those cranes from my office window, they are seriously high.

Compelling viewing, and slightly uneasy feeling too. All the time we were thinking it could go badly wrong for him.

Great programme to watch, and see the views without being there yourself! They are slightly mental, however they are more competent than your average Joe public (in terms of skills [parkour] balance, strength & judgement of the safe conditions).

I was imagining the endless reams of straps and safety harnesses the camera men must've had that followed them (I assume there were some and the whole program wasn't filmed on gopros etc!)

I can see the appeal (As in why you would do it), as motorbike riders we put ourselves in a higher position of risk anyway so its all relative.

I couldn't watch this watched the intro seen the bit where he was on the edge of the crane looking down I felt myself lean forward. Not a fan of heights at all.

I once went to a high ropes course and didn't do it. Heights are not my thing. As I watched this I actually felt my palms get all sweaty!! Defo not ideal if I was to be hanging off a crane!

I'm going to have to look this up on 4OD now. Did one of those high ropes things once too - munchkin's birthday treat and as she was under 16 had to be accompanied. Little sod took the tougher option every time there was one which I had to follow too. I knew I could not fall with the safety harness clipped on right but even so it was exhausting and scary in equal measure. How these guys do those epic climbs free with little or no lines is beyond me!

Watching this made me very anxious.

However I am left wondering why his mother effectively failed to parent him at the age of 14 where he decided that he didn’t want to go to school, and was allowed not to go. Based on that, extrapolating that he now has no qualifications, and thus I wonder about his employment status, how he can afford to jet around the world to climb things?

I'm sure channel four parted with at least the cost of a plane ticket in exchange for some good footage.
