Greetings!
I am currently in the process of replacing the rear cct gasket on my K3 sv650 and I ran into a problem. When I removed the tensioner, most of the old gasket stayed on the cylinder and I am unable to get it off. I tried gently attacking the remaining gasket with a razor blade but that didn't work. The limited space in that area doesn't really give me a lot of options. Have any of you ever encountered this issue? What would be a good method to tackle this? I guess I could just pull the engine and do it on the bench, but that's not something I am willing to do just yet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated |

Perseverance with a gasket scraper or a Stanley knife blade is the best option I'm afraid. Once all the big bits are off a wipe over with some carb cleaner tidies it up nicely.

I'm afraid it's a crap job. In future you'll be pleased to know you can release the CCT without removing the body from the engine, just the end plug and poke it from above with a screwdriver.

Thank you for your replies. I guess i'll just have to deal with it.
Unfortunately I had an oil leak from the rear tensioner, so gasket replacement was unavoidable |

I spent many a happy hour laid on my back with the rear wheel out removing old gasket, but it was very clean when Mr Rod helped me fit the new one !

Will work for food. Otherwise everything is possible for my standard fee, which is £1,000,000. I admit it's expensive but you know where you stand with a fixed price and it's a quality service.
