I passed my car with 7 hours.

None for my recent Mod 1 and 2.

Woah, and there's me thinking I had to jump through a ridiculous amount of flaming hoops to get an unrestricted license. By then I'll be 25/26 years old, happy days.

What about 21 year olds doing their DAS now, will they be knocked back to 47bhp in 2013 until they turn 24 and have to do another test?

Seems like a money spinning exercise. I reckon the powers-that-be will continue to make owning a powerful motorcycle more difficult and expensive every couple of years until no one except rich people with loads of time on their hands even bother any more.

Good lord, i'm 21 (almost 22) and i've been off my restriction for 1.5 years and just obtained a SK3 Copper 1000 the other day, better not make me take a test in 2013, thankfully i will have just turned 24 by then, minimum age for unlimited power. seems like nonsense to me

The document is over three years old because it has taken that long to worm its way through the various levels of government - DLD3 is the followup to version 2, which brought us the current debacle of the new bike test. The third directive hasn't currently made it into UK law, I believe.

I just hope they give up before writing a 4th...

Anyway, time for another shameless plug for this weekends Brum demo: http://www.mag-uk.org/en/newsdetail/a6866

<cough> <splutter> Hmmm, don't suppose I have much of an excuse for that one being too far away. Should I walk or take the bike?

if your on an A2 licence, it wont make any difference to you, the changes are only for people that dont have a licence before the 13th jan or something. If youre restricted to 33bhp on an A2, you have to stay at 33bhp until your two years is up, it doesnt change for 47bhp for you.
