Rather than pollute the other "what car" thread, thought I'd start a new one.
Now I shall put my cards on the table, we're an Audi owning househould. Its big, its comfy, it eats miles effortless, its good to drive, reasonable to insure and TBH the servicing isnt to bad either. Although the 19" tyres probably arent the best in terms of longevity or giving grip in the snow. ![]() I would prefer a manual gearbox, but I'm being picky the Multi tronic in it is one of if not the best auto boxes I've used. I drove 500 odd miles in it in one day and felt fresh at the end of my journey. So Audi's is it the car, the brand or have unfortunately Audi attracted the wrong sort of "owner" I've seen a lot of comment about Audi drivers being *insert expletive of choice* here... Is it mostly rep's in A3 & A4's or do the poor driving habbits extend to all types of Audi in general...

Audi's are new new BMWs in what fashion is concerned but I couldn't care less. Nevertheless they are beautifully engineered machines and they would be my first choice if I would care more about owning a more expensive car.

TBH it is the A3/4's mainly, it was the group that 3 series traditionally filled (When Mondeo man was mondeo man)
The A6 is an execs car and are normally driven appropriately (unless its an RS6 then it mandatory give it a bootful). Still would have one

It's because of what Jeremy Clarkson said on Top Gear about BMW drivers giving way to Audi drivers as D!cks.

Dads A6.....everyone flippin loves it!!
Although, it now has a pet name.....dads boat ![]() Theres two plugholes in the engine bay, underneath where the battery lives. They get blocked with crap, and it holds water.....................lots of water.....about 3 gallons of water....one day you will suddenly find lots of water sitting in your passenger footwell, and when you go round corners, it threatens to fly over the hump where the gear stick is!!!! It sneakily pours in through the pollen filter, and you find water water everywhere. It will make your alarm stop working, it will leave your hazard lights lit permanently and embarrassingly when you leave work. You open up the bonnet and find your battery with only an inch left before it drowns in water. Did I mention they like to hoard water? Until you unblock the plughole, watch out Audi owners....the waters coming for you! Everyone loves dads car, hes had it since 2002, its the comfiest thing ever, like a pair of old slippers, its the best hes ever had, and hes had some right old sheds, it looks as new as the day he bought it. And hes not a typical Audi owner either ![]()

I used to have an Audi A4 and I'd definitely have another. I've got zero interest in cars but there's no doubt they're a well put together bit of kit. Great to drive and comfy.
The only problem is they cost a lot of cash if you want something well specced (I can't be bothered even turning on my own lights and wipers these days ![]() They've got a very good product so there's a lot more of them on the road these days and they've become the company car of choice in place of the BMW. Just like BMW's in the 80's and 90's, not every Audi driver is a ****, but all the ****s seem to be driving Audis. ![]() I don't think you can say it's just fashion or wanting to be seen - you could say that if they were actually a crap car but, by any objective measure, that's just not the case. |

They make canny cars. Still prefer my BMWs though. A little better built and prices are rock bottom vs Audi. I just picked up a 70k mint 545 for 6k bargain.
My bro likes them tho. He has two and a mate of mine just bought a v8 a8 In place of an m3 but I'm betting it gets stuck in the snow as it's on 20s |
