I did Aberystwyth to Brum and back on my knackered cg. Only problems I had were overtaking lorries.

Used to ride my TZR125 on the Motorway, the bike was knackered and 13 years old never had a problem would even overtake things

However wouldn't like to do it on a CG they are crap! Its a strugle to get above 55 with them, I've tried

I could hold 55, but anymore was almost unheard of.
I did hit 74 on the slightly downhill part of the A5 coming down from Telford. Wind was behind me and god was I worried.

I think you learn more from an old knacker than a shiny new one.
I once got 70mph out my old bike downhill and it wasn't nice.
70 is now so boring

My old cb125 rs did 85.. but then I'd blown the baffels out many many miles before.

Great bike.. went like stink.. kick start... urgh... only did them for a year, don't know why they stopped making them as I thought it was a great bike.

I used to take my CG125 on the motorway from time to time, although I did get told I was mad on more than one occasion!

Mine used to top out at around 65mph, which is fine if you're in no rush and sometimes you even get to overtake things! As has been mentioned though, on uphills it starts to drop a bit so worth bearing that in mind. Oh, and expect occasional dirty looks from people as essentially you're blocking a lane and can cause some impressive traffic tailbacks!

You'll probably find it fine for occasional use, but if it's a regular journey you might get a bit frustrated. If you can pass your test and get something slightly bigger (even if still under the 33bhp limit) that would make things quite a bit easier.

65mph was no problem on the scooter for me. In fact, with a tail wind I found myself overtaking cars!
