Thanks guys, I did look for markings but couldnt see anything but I shall have a closer look next time I go out. All the advise you lot have givin me is kind of what I have been told before. One guy said as long as it does'nt 'clearly' state "NOT FOR ROAD USE" and it had a manufacturers name, then its legal. Someone else said that its up to the MOT station if they do or not.

With reference to the baffle from Speedy, I can not see any where a baffle can go and there was definatly not one given to me, I have emailed my mate that sold it to me to make sure he never had one when he brought it new.

Thanks again guys for all the advise and info.

Mick -Rather noisey Staffordshire rider

Thats not true, just cause my exhaust does not say "not for road use" any more does'nt make it legal, it's still a race system. There are markings on legal systems that let the police know they are legal, any thing else then its at the discretion of who pulls you. You should also let your insurance know so it does'nt void the bike in case of a claim. My insurance were fine about but they did want it on record.

My Scorpion had no baffle in it and no hole to secure one. All I did was to buy one of those DB killers off Ebay and drill hole in the underside of where the pipe comes out of the silencer. The DB killer has a nut welded into it.

Piece of cake and bike has passed 2 MOT's now. Can is not too loud to annoy the neighbours either

A picture of the exhaust and of the end port would help

I have an Akrapovic Race System on mine and have twice forgotten to put the baffle in when MOT time rolls round. It has yet to fail it.

I guess a lot depends on where you go to get it done, but I admit that the pipe still has the E mark on it.

Sorry but loud cans dont save people, they sound nice

I totally disagree with this too.

Having gone from a SV1000 with straight thru yoshi's to to a striple with standard cans, alot more people used to move over a few cars ahead when i was approaching.

The sound will re-verb fowards if filter on the motorways too so it will help.

I will get some pic's done soon, I have noticed though more cars moving out the way as you approach them from behind, especially in built up areas. thanks again for all the advise.
