I thought it was a joke too went in the room took all of 5 mins doing the theory then went through the hazard perception, when i came out the staff member seemed shocked that i was out so quick. I can maybe see them making you do the hazard perception bit if you've never done it before but the questions are a joke to anyone thats been riding or driving for a few years

When I did my bike test I had a car licence well before 2001 and had teh bike provisional entitlement and STILL had to do theory

what i was most upset was, that when i did my theory test for the car, i only had to do 35 questions and a hazard perception, and then for the bike, i had to do 50 questions and the hazard perception!! and it had gone up by £10!

The biggest problem is the DVLA don't know their own rules. Because I had my bike license since 1999 I thought I wouldn't need to do the theory again, but the issue of the B1 showing came up and because it had disappeared I had to do it again.

The quote was from an email that they sent. I phoned to query and someone from up high ended up phoning me back the next day as they had to 'look into the situation'. This is not the first time the DVLA couldn't give a consistent answer on a licensing matter.

But if you had a full cat B before 2001 then I think as that doesn't give you provisional A then you would have had to do the theory test again. It was only full cat A (bike) that gave provisional B1 (car).

It would appear that Golop like me is in the small group of people that have a full bike license before learning the cage. My cage instructor had to call the DVLA to make sure he could teach me as in all his years he'd never been handed a pink license without a picture of a car on it.

To be honest with You mates its all about money, because I rewieved theory test book for cars,
and questions are almost or rather the same as Ive done my theory test on bike...
I dont mind to go there and pass this test...however,
I dont want to pay money for smth Ive done before....Beaurocracy!!!

OK, so I understand that I will have to go for this (****) theory test anyway...and even then I will have problems with instructor or with practical test...?? Because, I don't have provisional license for car....

(I mean: I have, but it doesnt say on the back of my full license-this is what DVLA told me when I rode there myself...)CRAZY !!
