Pictures of Stretchie's Thundercat make me sad.

Grant, Speedwell should look after you. Over the years I have bought 4 bikes from them, and before I twirled my own spanners they did all my servicing and repairs.

Ha! My Ace lived outside the whole time I lived in Hampshire, got washed twice, never been touched by ACF (occasional wd40) and the only rust is on the bleed nipple on the rear calliper! What is wrong with yours Gav?

Let me know when you want to sell, I could do with some new plastics!

I'll give you 50p!

With a little more finesse your plastics could be good as new by now.

Get the sand paper and files out.

My mate loves the TC's. Had two now and wont buy anything else. I don't rate them that much and would probably go for a cbr600f of a similar year. Never heard of the gearbox issue, I heard about 2nd gear on the ealy r1s and r6 as it also apparently affects a fair few kawasakis. Mine included.

Just put a deposit down on the one in the link (subject to test ride).

Bad bits: Bit of rust around the linkage area, corrosion on the gear cover, small crack in fairing (due to overtightened screw, bit of ABS glue will fix)

Good bits: new chain, new tyres, crash bungs, no signs of being dropped (until step son gets hold of it), new stainless exhaust heads.

Overall in good condition for the age, now all I have to do is get the money off him (step son that is).

Glad you found one, he's going to love it...

...still think they're ugly though, and remind my mate everytime I see his!
