I gather I could do same with the vacuum hose, put a 'T' in with a pipe coming off and blank it off with a bolt. |

If they were around when I did mine I'd have bought a set of extensions from Bibio http://www.svbits.co.uk/

I think it was 4mm fuel hose from halfords but its been a while. Just a short bolt that is fat enough that it bites into the rubber hose and seals the hole. So at the moment i think there is a rubber grommet covering the front take off. You are going to pull that off add a bit of pipe and then blank off the end of that pipe. I really wouldnt bother adding a T on the rear as access is so easy but obv its up to you. |

I used to get mine running and clamp off to maintain the vacuum before removing the tube to plug in the rear gauge. My front extension was made up of the CarbTune tubing which I left in place with a self tapper in the end. Chap who bought my bike was well please to get the rest of the tubing so all the legths matched (basically I could not be faffed to take the extension off and the remaining tubes were therefore no use to me).

well it goes around the outside of the little vacum lug that pokes out of the carb. If you get the tank up follow the short, smaller diameter rubber hose from the petrol tap to the carb. You will have the same fitting on the front carb but instead of a hose to the tank tap its blanked off.

What vacuum gauges do you guys use? Last time I had a twin I used to reckon you could balance it pretty well by ear, but that was a parallel twin with even firing intervals. It was also a long time ago when I was more of a cheapskate. Then when I had a four it was always done by a dealer.
