I too have been looking at the GSX650F. They are pretty good value but got to remember it's basically a bandit with some fairing on, so they are pretty hefty things. The SV is a great little bike, but I perhaps did rush into it a little at first and considering I'm 6'2", it gives me some jip in my back, shoulders and wrists with being so far hunched over.

I think the Sprint 1050 is a good shout, it's been around long enough to fit into your budget I suspect and has some grunt and long distance ability, look nice too...

Yes potentially, I need to look at bieks this weekend. I also need to get my car sold, since that will fund it.

I wouldn’t trade a car in against a bike. In fact I would never recommend part exchanging, sale the car first privately you will get more money for it. This means you now have more money to spend on your new bike.

However if you really do want to part ex I would suggest not to use Fowlers if you are buying a used bike, their prices for used are quite high to interesting. If buying new then go for it with them or anyone else for that matter.

Not so much that I want to Part-Ex, its just that I am having a little difficulty selling it. I know I'll loose money, but frankly now i just want it sold. There's nothing wrong with the car, but it seems by putting a low price on it it seems that people think that there is something wrong.

If you're interested in taking a look, I'm away for the weekend but will be back late Sunday afternoon. The bike's currently at my work in Isleworth.

Go to cycle-ergo.com and put your measurements in to look at different riding positions for different bikes. I set arm straightness around 85% as that's how I ride and the ST looks too crouched for my liking.
