Secondly, am aware that admiral do a policy that allows you to add the second car when its current policy is up for renewal. Does anyone know of any insurers that offer this for bikes? or do dual bike policies have to have both bikes on the policy from the start?

Cheers.

I attempted to make a claim when I wrote a Corsa off with my SV while filtering. They were not interested and completely unhelpful. But to be fair they called me every couple of months to see if any passengers in my car had suffered whiplash in the accident that they could pursue a claim on their behalf for...

Holy thread resurrection.

I need to insure a second bike, if I cannot add it to my existing policy will I have to start a new one with no no claims? If so this is gonna get expensive!

Yeah this is what I found, but bikesure gave me a significant discount because I already had one bike with decent NCB with them. Lots cheaper than the usual comparison suspects.

I am thinking about doing the same thing for this with my SV1000S and R6.

The Thou' was £400 TPFT last year and the R6 has been quoted at the same. I have three years NCB, so, am just trying to find someone to do both for about £600 and I'll be happy.

It seems ebike and some others are the way to go.

I wouldn't use express insurance, they are crafty b@stards and not very helpful when your the one who was the victim in an accident

I've been with Aviva (Norwich Union as it used to be) for ever. They used to do a "rider" policy where you were insured for any bike, anything at all, whether you owned it or not. That was great.

Then the bureaucrats got in and everything had to have its own insurance cert.

Now it's for up to 4 bikes that I own, the main premium is for the highest group bike (which in my case changes year to year even for the same stable!) then each extra bike costs according to its value. Up to £1k value it's free, then 1.5% of the value over £1k (e.g. £15 for a bike worth £2k). I currently have 3 bikes on it with "Bike Gold" breakdown etc etc, all knobs and whistles, total £196 this year (but I'm ancient).

Worth a phone call.

I'll give them a go.

With two bikes, most expensive being the R6, I'd expect about £400 TPFT being 28 with 3 years NCB and then the Thou' is worth about £2k, so, be great to have TPFT for £415 for both

Cheers

The insurance on the GSXR is about £250, the quotes I have been getting on the VFR are around £350.

Bennetts did me a very competitive quote for both bikes.

£2000!

Got a few more quotes, still works out about the same to have two separate policies.
