Looks awesome Jayne!
The carbon bits along with the new forks really set it off! Job well done!

Today I called my bike a lot of very, very rude names.
I was required to remove the sprocket nuts in order to place a speedo rotor on them. A very simple job you would think, but it proved to be a complete and total nightmare and ended with a Dremmel! One single stud stripped and the nut was firmly stuck on, despite turning easily with the spanner. In the end I had to remove the wheel from the frame, grind off the offending nut and then replace the bolt and nut with a nice one from my collection. Anyway, after three hours I managed to get the beautiful Speedo rotor onto the sprocket carrier. ![]() ![]() Can you guess who made this beautiful bit of kit? Here is another clue. ![]() ![]() The magic of Bibio has once more hit the door step of Sylvie and the parts are beautifully made. Threading the lead through the frame was mainly a simple task, but had a couple of tight bits that proved difficult until I pulled out the forceps and helped the lead through. Then it was just simple plug and play. ![]() ![]() Sadly after all of the messing about with knackered sprocket carrier nuts, it got too dark to continue, so I have not yet finished the final set up with the sensor. ![]() ![]() So it looks very much like tomorrow I shall be wandering back down to the garage and having a play until I can get it just perfect, like the Genius Lance likes it. If anyone is interested in the speedo Kit talk to Lance (AKA - Bibio), the price is very reasonable for the quality of the kit you get and you wont have to muck about with dodgy wiring or super gluing magnets onto your disk rotors!

The speedo is fitted, the panels are back on and the tyres are inflated. So it must be final test ride time.
I am the lucky person to have one of Bibio's (AKA Lance) fabulous Speedo adapters and it works very well. On my "Secret Test Track" I checked the accuracy against my Sat Nav, a Tom Tom 1 and the result was excellent. At every check the bike speedo and the Sat Nav read the same up to and incliding 60 MPH. At an indicated 70MPH on the bike speedo, the Sat Nav read 68MPH. At an indicated 100MPH on the bike, the Sat Nav read 97MPH. At this point though it had got cold and the frost was settling on the track, so I went home. For public roads though, Lance's speedo adaptor is perfectly usable, it reads accurately enough that you can avoid speeding fines. The rotor fits perfectly onto the wheel and the sensor holder is beautifully designed. ![]() |

thanks Jayne, i assure you the pleasure is all mine. yes there a a few bits to iron out but all in all the test was a success. i can now go ahead, get things moving and make the kits up for sale to help out those wishing to do a front end conversion with a plug and play speedo drive kit which is the main stumbling block with changing the front end to a GSXR one.
