Scratches from 1200 grit or something are nothing to worry about. Some suspension guys do this deliberately to hold a bit of oil.

Oh cool never heard of that does it help to dampen the forks or something? Can't see it doing that much though?

Supposed to oil the seals a little to cut down stiction, not sure it makes any difference either. But 1200 grit scratches won't damage the seals is important thing. And won't risk ripping cheap chinese chrome plate off either

Learn to maintain your bike, take it apart, rebuild the engine & more (using better bolts ), drop it & fix it again!
K3 Job c.v: Engine:remove/split/rebuild/refit. Replace:Gearbox,Fuel pump,Gaskets. Piston clean,rings. Overhaul:Throttle body,Injectors,Brakes,Forks. Remove/refit:Exhaust,Radiator,Oil cooler,Throttle,Air filter,Tank. Replace: Oil,Coolant,grease,brake hoses & bleed.
