Re: Top Gear is back
I really liked the new format, they need to get rid of the guest segment all together though even though it's been massively cut down it's still boring.
It's now actually a program about cars and not 3 blokes who are funny when they are being themselves but are terrible at reading scripted lines which the last few series' old TG and GT are. What would be best though is if the program just turned into a higher budget version of Chris Harris' Youtube channel.

Re: Top Gear is back
I enjoyed that last night.
Much better without Evans, and much better than "The Grand Tour" episodes that I watched and I never watched all of them as I got bored. I liked the new format and new studio. This is what they should have done in the first place and made a clean break of it. If they ditch the celebrity bit completely I'd say they had it spot on as it just doesnt gel with the rest of the show now at all I think...

Re: Top Gear is back
It was better than the last set that's for sure. Not perfect but an improvement. I would have to agree with those before that the celebrity bit needs to go, but only because it was disjointed and none of the presenters could really carry an interview.
Chris Harris has done well, not convinced on LeBlanc yet but he was better than last time however that 3rd one needs replacing maybe with Sabine Schmitz? The challenge was good but the taxi coming off the bricks was a step to far. They didn't need to stage that event, the crash right at the start didn't look staged judging by Harris' face and with the other bits was enough drama to see it through with a nice finish. However, no one has mentioned the absence of The Stig... |

Re: Top Gear is back
Some say he was going to drive the Ferrari around the track but it was too wet.

Re: Top Gear is back
I liked it more than the last croc of ****e. Not convinced by Chris slightly ****ing annoying Harris.
As a whole much better though. |

Re: Top Gear is back
Another reasonably good show. Wasn't won over by the Bond scene, but the rest of it seemed to be entertaining at least.
Next week has the promises of being good . . . . we shall see if it lives up to expectations |

Re: Top Gear is back
Watchable but wooden. It might develop well as they evolve their own confidence. The presenters are pleasant enough but a bit short of personality so far but on the plus side Chris Evans isn't on it.

Re: Top Gear is back
The "angry driving instructor" bit with the guest wasn't very funny first time round and is now plain irritating. The rest is pleasant enough.
