bad day with the sv650s
broke down yesterday morning ironically on my way to the garage.
sat waiting 2 hours for the AA for him to say oh i cant get it to start we will get you a truck will be another hour. gets to the garage and woke up this morning ( very hungover ) to the mechanic telling me the starter clutch has gone and smshed something called a magneto? and apparantly the oem parts will cost me around 200 and 300 and a new gasket for 12 quid... safe to say bad day 03 sv650s 35k miles |

If those parts are needed, eBay will be a far cheaper source.

yeah i have been looking for the parts on there just waiting to find the right ones.. the mechanic said he hadn't seen this happen before and was surprised! i just think its my bad luck haha :')

I have seen a starter clutch go before. I presume its stripped some teeth, just make sure they are all recovered from the sump...

i have no idea i was tired and it was early when he rang.. anyone know if a k6 engine will fit a k3? or if the parts are similar ?

apparently the flywheel? is destroyed because it wouldnt come out so he had to force it out.. the starter clutch magnets had flew around the engine hes missing one.. once hes found that i just need to put it back on.
anyone ever had this happen before? |
