How big a van would I need...?
For 2 SVs and my baby beemer GS? LWB Transit be big enough you reckon? Can't be bothered to measure up bikes and vans and work it all out so thought I'd just ask you lot as you must know.

I've got a mwb, med roof transit, fits my drz no bother, tall screens might be an issue but anything else no problem.

Re: How big a van would I need...?
I have had 3 medium sized bikes in the back of a SWB low top transit before.
I would say LWB should be fine the high top makes loading easier for sure regardless if the BMW needs the height or not. The only other thing to say is make sure you have a good ramp and enough ratchet straps. |

Re: How big a van would I need...?
Ramp and straps no problem, we used a Luton before but the GS is so long it was a struggle to fit it on the tail lift. My bike is low though. Sounds like a LWB would be sufficient.

Re: How big a van would I need...?
LWB might be ok, but make sure it's a Sprinter, or something like that. I tried to get 3 bikes in a standard van, they didn't fit. Luckily I worked for a van hire company at the time, so went back & picked up a luton.

Re: How big a van would I need...?
I'm just round the corner from a van hire place so will see if I can take a look at what they've got. If they insist on having all the drivers there in person with their licenses on the day of pick up it won't work anyway as we're meeting en route and Chris still hasn't got his licence back so I already know they won't accept a poorly written DVLA letter.

Wouldn't a trailer be a better plan?
£25 a day Witham 3 bike
