Default Test rode a Triumph Street Triple today

OMG what a bike. It is light, handles like a dream, very fast has bucket loads of low down torque but the engine is so smooth.

I was riding out of town doing about 20mph in sixth gear on the SV I would drop two cogs before accelerating away or risk leapfrogging down the road. The Triumph just picked up and accelerated without any fuss or vibration. The engine is so smooth.

It combines the best of a twin and an in-line four engine I don't know how they have managed it but you have to experience it to believe it.

Warning if you try it you will buy it I did and I did not go on the test ride with the intention of buying one but I did and it's coming Saturday. It is significantly better than everything else I have tried or owned SV650, ER6N, Fazer, Z750, Superduke to name a few.

I will be sorry to see the SV go but at least it is being replaced by the best model currently out there.

They do look nice- saw a street triple R last Friday and I thought it looked the nuts. Need to change the OE cans though.

You buying new or used? Good deal?

I was thinking the same. Can't afford either insurance wise for a few years though

Run some quotes through. I pushed back my DOB and date of licence test by 2 years.. listed as "unemployed". no claims/convictions etc all that old tosh. Done with I'mCONFUSEED.com. xD

2 Years no claims, policy to start this Monday.

Street Triple worth £4750 with no "listed" modifications, as most policies allow up to £xxx amount of modifications (for example mine is £750)

For an alarmed (Datatool S4 Red as they're fitted to everyone I've seen), kept in RG19 postcode in a locked garage with a "Jetpoint double bridge ground anchor" (no I have no idea as well but it sounds good!!)

Prices for fully comp on SDP policy with a 2000 mile limit (they never bloody check anyway!)..

Put down a £500 voluntary excess and here's what happened...

£300.30 with a £1150 excess.. or £341 with a £900 excess. Not bad actually.

____

For the same info but with a 17 year old with no NCB on TFT it's £678, basically the same as my departed Z750 if you add the monthly payments

Fairly reasonable TBH.

Buying new at the moment they are like rocking horse **** to find. Got a good price for the SV but as Triumph will not have any available for delivery to dealers until at least June earliest there was not a lot of room to negotiate. Didn't go for the R as the standard is probably way beyond my riding skills.

I must say that the sound from the standard cans is very aggressive. Roll on Saturday.
