Yep, as soon as I read that I knew what you'd done. Because I've done it my self. Didn't have the timing on the correct mark when I removed the CCT and I knew something was wrong by the sound. Thankfully I didn't start it as the engine was on the bench but it resulted in spending a hour or so resetting the timing and double checking everything again. Lesson learned.
But that exhaust hack is horrific! |

Not with SV engines, but I have experienced that valve piston interface a couple of times as a result of timing chain/belt/key failures.
I have inspected pistons and OK'd them and subsequently had them fall apart a week or two later. So lucky it survived for you.
