Default Dangerous Road, Bristol

Hi All,

I've just sent this to Bristol City Council, take care out there:

Hi All,

The A4174 Overndale Road in Downend/Fishponds is now extremely dangerous. Someone has covered it in loose, dusty gravel. Thankfully, I don't have to ride along it, however I have to ride along the A432 Downend Road, and the loose gravel has been dragged from Overndale Road to Downend Road. This morning, my rear wheel slipped sideways as I was accelerating past the junction. If I tried to ride along Overndale Road, I'd probably be on the floor inside 20 yards.

Please can you do whatever is necessary to stabilise the road surface as soon as possible, before someone has an accident.

Thanks.

Imagine if they actually listened to that? Wouldn't that be great?

Perhaps we all need to do the same to make a bigger impact

Email them this WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I emailed the council about the gravel they laid down on Fishponds road, and the Bath road on the junctions after they put the extra grip serface down (the yellowey tarmac). 24 hours later they had cleared it... result!

An unfortunate choice of words

But yes, it does work - as soon as someone draws a Council's attention to a highways problem they become liable for it.

Certainly there seems less grit on Downend road, I've not been along Overndale Road yet.

Thank you for the information. I will investigate and try and resolve the situation.
