Re: How seriously do you take your hair?
Without washing it each morning with shampoo and conditioner, then applying serum, carefully blow drying, spraying in heat defence gunk then using a £200 pair of straighteners I'd look like this every day
I have it cut (and de-gingered if needed) every 7 weeks at a hairdresser an hour's drive away because it's a friend who owns the salon, she's very good and it only costs me £45 mates rates, Tony & Guy or similar would be £150 or more. Some days it is tempting just to do a Britney.

Re: How seriously do you take your hair?
Am I truly alone in thinking that Redheads are beautiful? Mind you I dye the wife's hair red, so I get to enjoy it. Her natural hair colour (if we ignore the grey, she is 49 on saturday!) is a medium brown and her hair is so fine that it is like spider silk. It is beautiful for a couple of days after being washed, but it soon gets full of engine oil, bits of motorbike and owl stuff! Sadly she gets eczema if we wash her hair too often and we have to use really gentle stuff when we do. With your beautiful wavy locks, you should be washing your hair in a mountain stream and then flicking it about the place like a tart.

Re: How seriously do you take your hair?
I would go bald if I could. We have evolved past the need for hair, if my head is cold I wear a Tea Cosy.
But for now I keep it short, as short as I can without a razor. I get it cut every couple of weeks. I've had the same hair style for many, many years now. Though I question the word style. |

Re: How seriously do you take your hair?
Mine is still red, the ends go a bit light in the sun so I just get them darkened down so the colour looks even. It is naturally the colour of a baby orangutan's bum fluff!

Re: How seriously do you take your hair?
I had long hair as a teen and decided last month to grow it again. I'm not precious about my mop but need to keep it neat for work. I'll probably get more comments as it gets to the in between stage but I couldn't give a stuff what's said. I cut my hair short after listening to my classmates at school saying it looked awful only to be met with a chorus of 'why did you cut it all off, it looked great really' so when it gets long this time, anyone moaning at me can go poke it.

Re: How seriously do you take your hair?
Having dreadlocks down to my bum has pros and cons.
Pros: less daily maintenance, fairly unusual, zero brushing, pretty much the same after wearing a lid as before, still gets washed (when I feel like it) Cons: can get in the way, can get sat on, zero brushing, weighs a ton when wet They'll probably have to go at some point but...not yet!

Re: How seriously do you take your hair?
My mum cuts my hair when I can be bothered. It's so fine, one or two snips and it's done.
I went to the hairdressers a few months ago with the kids for their haircut, and they charged me a tenner for attempting to cut mine, which was the worst cut ever. My eldests godmother is a hairdresser. Over the years I've had alsorts of things done, for the cost of the stuff to do it. I've also learnt how to do extensions, streaks and dyes. I dye my hair every four weeks at the roots, it takes five minutes to slap on as a hairdresser would do it. I could and have done in the past, done my own streak foils in pink. I have to wash my hair every day, as I have extremely greasy hair. That, with fine hair is horrid. Pegasus gets a buzz cut from me when his bald bits start feeling crowded.
