Curvy clock sweep!
Hey all, not seen this on my curvy before but when bike failed to start due to an under charged battery I noticed with each press of the starter button the clock needles swept the full arc of the clocks! It doesn't do it when battery is fully charged and bike starts up, Is it some kind of 'tell tale' thing that indicates the battery voltage is low? Or is it something that could be activated somehow as an option? (A bit like the hidden menus on some cars).

Re: Curvy clock sweep!
The naked curvy tacho is very simple and just converts a frequency into an angle for the needle, so if you're getting a sweep I'm guessing it's a faired curvy. Their clocks could be very different, but I'd guess it's more likely to be a failure than intentional.

Re: Curvy clock sweep!
probably just the electricals responding to the very low voltage you get when you try to draw a load of starting current from a battery that does not contain much

Yes, from experiance an undercharged battery or incorrect voltage etc can do funny things to the SV's dash.
My advise, charge the battery and check the bikes charging system. |

Re: Curvy clock sweep!
Had a few charging issues of late so decided to sort it out permanently (hopefully), just bought a FH022aa reg rec, doing the 'direct to battery' mod, all wiring 12g, all soldered joints, brand new battery, so now looking forward to doing more riding and less spannering.
