remake of the supports for the givi suitcases
Hi everyone!
Well I´m new here, so I´ve to introduce myself, I´m from Madrid, Spain, and I've a sv650s k5 since 4 years. I let a photo of my "susy" and me. Well, so this July I´m going to travel from Madrid to North Cape with four friends. So we need to carry luggage, and for this I decided to buy the givi tph01. I didn't want to carry a big suitcases, so finally I decided to buy these in spite of there weren't available for our suzuki. No problem,I compared the different models available with this suitcase and also the anchors (sorry for my english) and I thought that the most similar was the anchors of the Yamaha XJ6/ XJ6 División 09>10 so let start! We remove the passenger seat we decided to fix the anchors to these four point that shown in the picture we put the anchors near to the tail and decide the position, the anchors were joined to the tail through welding a special pieces. the lowest anchor, we decided to put there (shows in the picture) so we cuted and fold the anchors to the desired position the measurements of the rear plates is 12 cm ... measure, mark cut continue... Re: remake of the supports for the givi suitcases
Well, the same procedure for the bottom plate in the photo (blurry, sorry are made with the phone) and shows the bottom plate welded. The other plate is marked well above decided to cut and weld plate
The mark is where is where we cut, the other circle is support cut and where it comes home to hang the helmet under the seat. It is also necessary to reduce the plastic then the seat can be closed without problems. Same process for manufacturing the plate, in this case so that everything is perfect, we weld the brackets placed on the bike subjects in the two bars that we've done. Attention! remove the negative battery terminal when the welding is to be on the bike the piece that connects the two brackets from behind is short, so we cut in half and weld a charge of 10 cm. then polish the welds and paint ... and assemble... Hope you like it! |
