Talking Modern Classic insurance...

......does exist

As of the 29th of this month, both the SV and the VRap qualify for modern Classic insurance, multibike policy.

For a grand total of £217.34 fully comp, via Carol Nash. £125 excess.

Such a reduction from last year, and to think the renewal quote was £312, with £350 excess!!!!!

I take it "modern classic" is for bikes over 10 years old?

Yup, must be
The SV qualified last year, but they never even considered Classic insurance, when I asked them at renewal. I'd forgotten the Raptor was coming up to ten years old this year though, so I'm rather chuffed at the outcome!

None that I know of. However I have got it down for 4k per bike anyway.

The Raptor is a git to insure cheaply, and other alternative companies wouldn't entertain it this time, so I'm happy.

Carol Nash. Groupama Modern Classic.

No idea what Groupama are like if things go wrong, but I don't care really, they are all as bad as each other.

Bugger, I looked in to it last month as the Black Bird is 14 years old and the insurance was due mid April.

Some companies would accept a bike until it was 15 years old and some had mileage limits set at 3 or 4k.

Tell you what else I found (insurance comanies in general, not Classic) was alot of them would not not give you breakdown if the bike was 10+ years old.

Ended up staying with Bennetts. Good find though Dizz, pleased for you, only another 3 years until my insurance goes to a realistic sum (had trouble wiv da law in 2010)
