Shameless Self Plug
Hey, thought it best to post here as it is the relevant area.
My brother is big into cleaning his cars and doing a thing known as detailing. He wants to start a business and that will include motorbikes, for now he is operating out of his home in Didcot and charges £100. So if anyone wants their bike cleaned to valet standard including machine polishing and de-greasing with the utmost care taken. Here is his write up on the work he did on my bike, he did this in four hours because we had a BBQ to go to where normally he'd spend an entire day on it. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...94#post4127494 As you can see from the pictures, my bike looks much better and because the after treatment wax, it helps keep the dirt off for longer too. |

You and Tom_The_Great are probably related.
4 hours "a quick job" riiiitttee. It looks fantastic, I could never spend that much time on cleaning something. |

I can take no credit, it was primarily my brother. Just trying to help him get his business off the ground. If you do want your bike to look the same/better. Then for only £100 he'll spend all day on it for you.

Cheat, that was clean to begin with...
Only joking matey, looks great, good job. You might want to remind Squirrell of this once his TZR is together and had a few runs out

Re: Shameless Self Plug
This is actually something that has crossed my mind. I don't believe in cleaning bikes, but once the TZR is finished I think I'd like to keep it to a nice standard. And as I have an aversion to soap paying someone once a year to go to town on it might be worthwhile...

Re: Shameless Self Plug
Life is waaaay too short for that kind of stuff. Besides, while going overboard on bodywork makes some sense for a car, where that's pretty much all that's visible, on a bike it's a small fraction of the exposed surface and arguably the easiest bit to clean. And the paint on bikes is usually crap, as your brother discovered, which really limits what you can do with it.
Now if he fancies spending an afternoon being my dogsbody with a pack of toothbrushes and a can of WD40, I'm all ears...
