Default Naming your bike?

Have you given your bike a name?
If so what name and why?

I named my 125 Rachel, but I've still not decided on a name for my sv yet.

Ridiculous concept. Never done it. I had a CB200 once that I called a +*&^ing piece of ++++ every time I got on it though.

Agreed.

However I have been required to give my current SV the designation of SH2 simply to differentiate it from my first SV which has been given the uniquely original designation of SH1. That way when my SV is being discussed we all know which one we are talking about as they are both 99 model blue Curvy S's.

My SV is called "the SV".
My XJ is called "the XJ"
My GPZ was called "the GPZ" or more usually "the GPShed"

My van is very imaginatively named "the van".

Naming bikes is weird. Something that birds do I reckon. Or people who are a bit soft in the head and give teabags names and stuff.

I refer to mine as "she" but that's about it.

I heard recently that big ships are always referred to as 'she' as they 'carry' people like a pregnant woman carries. Not sure how true that is but sounds feasible.

Mine is called Thump, short for Hecky Thump, cos of licence plate and it's being northern. However, I rarely call it by its name, it's just known as my SV. I wouldn't ever say "I'm just going to ride Thump" or "I'm going to give Thump some new shoes"...it's not a pet...not that I would give a pet new shoes...unless it was a horse...I don't own a horse.
