Default Salvage Auction Site

Got sent a link to Copart this morning. Thought it might interest some people out there.

Got told about this the other week. Been keeping my eye out for anything interesting for me to fix up to track it.

Don't forget all of the other fees on top of the sale price.

Copart don't determine the cat status of the vehicle, they only sell them with the information the insurance company provide.
You need to be a member to buy from them, it's £40 a year, there is a 5% buyers fee plus £5 bid fee and a £10 load fee all fees subject to VAT.
You are up against buyers from all over the country as well as Eastern Europe, the later buy thousands of vehicles and have them shipped back to Poland etc. The Eastern Europeans don't have the same strict rules we have when it comes to write off's so the price they pay can be more than it's worth over here, having said that I have bought and sold quite a lot of bikes from them but there have been a few loses so you got to watch what you buy.

Thumbs up Re: Salvage Auction Site

Useful link, thanks From experience of other salvage auctions, check what fees will be added as they soon mount up

For anyone North-East based, the '06 SV1000 @ Peterlee looks tidy (cat D, minor side damage), auction now at £575 with only a couple of days to go

Thats just the pre auction bids, don't get carried away with them. The real bidding is done online on the day of the sale, thats when everyone bids in real time.

That one looks like Dave Preston has been at it again ,

Pity I wasn't a bit more local as I'd go and offer cash for this and a V-Strom that I'd seen at another Copart site.

But if its a auction then idiots are going to bid stupid money, forgetting the extra fees involved. Same as Ebay, lots of idiots spending stupid money
