Question Fitting carbs to a fuel injected engine.

I bought an '01 sv race bike a few weeks ago with Keihin fcr 41mm race carbs fitted. The bike seized on me so I'm now after a new engine. Does anyone know if a set of carbs can be fitted to a fuel injected sv engine? Would they be able to fit straight on to inlet manifolds or would some manufacturing be required?

Thanks

Nah mate those FCR will only ever fit the original engine, you should sell them to me for a tenner

You might need to swap the rubbers from carb engine. Also need to change ignition system.

So it is doable?

Not an sv engine but I have a classic rover mini that was fuel injected and was converted to a single carb. Guy that did the work just left the injection looms taped up.

What sort of ignition changes would you be talking. If I went for a newer type loom would that sort it.

Thanks

If you can get a manifold to accept them and yo can supply enough fuel to them you should be ok. I`ve installed fuel injection to a VW Beetle and stuck 2 twin 40 webers on my beetle, had to fit a fuel pump for supply to the carbs, messes up fuel economy that though.

Plenty of people covert mk1 and mk2 golf gti's to run on carbs so can't see why u can't do it an sv.

I am running carbs on a K4 engine so in answer to your question yes you can. I am running 144 jets if that helps you too

Just plug it in and run everything else from the curvy.
