As above, I have some fairing panels I may be selling but they're all datatagged.
It's the early 90's method of dirty great numbers acid etched through a stencil onto the paintwork that was done by one of the previous owners. I own the bike but I haven't registered with Datatag. Would a datatag on a panel put you off as a buyer? I suppose any buyer would want to respray them, but it might be an option for me to sand and prime the panels myself to remove the numbers if it's the kind of thing that might put people off. Please see my other thread for grinding off the frame and engine numbers. ![]() j/k. I do own the bike, honest. |

I have previously brought Datataged panels. The number is normally hidden at the joint of the two fairing sections.

Oddly enough I just noticed some spare panels I bought months and months ago are Datatagged. Not bothered me. If I had known of it I would have attempted to use that to get them a little cheaper...

Thanks folks. I don't know why it felt wrong. Logically, it's the panels that aren't datatagged that are more likely to be nicked. ![]() Anyway, that's been relegated to next years project now cos tonight I agreed to spend my spare cash on another bike. ![]() |

Yeah, I'd buy them at cheaper cost, but only because I know that Datatagging marks can be polished out using fine Farecla rubbing compound if you're careful and wet the panel frequently.

I wouldn't be put off. My replacement raptor tank is tagged. You can't be too choosy when the only tank available in the UK is tagged!....that isn't new or costs 2k!
