Default Curvy SV650S - £500

Ok, I really didn't want to have to sell this bike, but I'm currently so broke I literally can't afford my next months rent, so unfortunately it's got to go.

Obviously, for the price that I'm asking for, it's not perfect. The most obvious flaw would be that it doesn't work!

I think the driveshaft has sheared, although I haven't had the time to do any work to confirm whether or not that is the case. If it is that then you're looking at up to around 8 hours of your time and somewhere in the region of £200. It may well turn out to be something far simpler though, in which case obviously it'll be a cheaper fix. Absolute worst case scenario is that it'll need a new engine, but you can pick one up for around £450 on ebay. However, everything else engine wise is fine, and most engines seems to be sold with carbs, air box, and a load of other bits that you wouldn't need, so you could probably pick up an engine for closer to £350.

So you could potentially have this bike working again for under £600 in total, or even if it does take a new engine it's still running for under £1000.

Other than that obvious problem it's not a bad bike. Mechanically the rest of it is in decent knick, it was running very well prior to this problem. Chain and sprockets could probably do with replacing in the next few thousand miles, but other than that it's good. New set of tyres fitted under 1000 miles ago and never used hard so in great condition.

Cosmetically it's scruffy, and it does have a number of knicks and scrapes on the fairings, but nothing structurally wrong and could be tidied up easily. I've put photos of the worst damage below.

Not really any modifications, it's got a Fuel exhaust on it which sounds absolutely lovely, a new screen (can't remember what it was, but it's a big improvement over the original) and will come with the original screen and a cut down seat.

Mileage is just over 23,000.

So obviously this would be bought as a project, but even if you decided that it was too much hassle to get running you could still make a profit if you broke it for parts, which is what I would do if I wasn't in such a dire state right now.

£500 and it's yours to take away. I'll chuck in my haynes manual and a set of washers for restricting it to 33bhp too.

Any questions, just ask.

Is this the one that was reframed?

And what makes you think the driveshaft has sheared?

Yep, it's that one.

Personally I didn't take a guess, but the garage I had just taken it to for its MOT (it broke down about 200 yards from it!) said that from the way it broke and how it was sounding when they tried to start it that was what they believed was likely to have happened.

As I said though, it may be completely wrong and the actual fix may be a hell of a lot simpler and cheaper, but I just don't have the time to see for myself and desperately need whatever money I can get for it right now.
