Just trying to get my head around the linkage, but doesn't the whole back end collapse if you take the dog bones off? You may have to use the foot peg trick which only takes a couple of minutes extra.

Couldn't get my shock and dog bone bolts undone so had to get a garage to do mine. Typical Japanese problem, they seem to have an adversion to using anything remotely resembling grease. Suggest a good coat of copper slip on all the moving parts whilst you are in there and then its done.

Yes. But as the ABBA Stand supports the bike at the swing arm pivot raising the rear off of the ground the bike is no longer using the linkage thus it can be removed. I have done this more than once using the ABBA Stand.

Use the ABBA Stand in the swing arm if you have one available it makes the job a lot easier.

Aha, good point, I was thinking of a paddock stand.

The swing arm will drop a little so the rear tyre will be resting on the ground (the ABBA Stand takes it off the ground). Though I can't honestly remember if it will do that with just the dog bones being removed as I am usually swapping shocks so take the whole set up apart anyway. As a tip, a block of wood comes in handy to stick under the rear wheel to raise it up a bit and make refitting the suspension bolts a little easier.
