Default Recommend Me A Sport

It would appear that I get out of breath tying my own shoe laces. I didn't use to as I was quite active simply by my lifestyle. But these days I spend most of my time sat down, so I have been thinking of taking some exercise.

But I've no idea what to do.

Years back I tried going to a gym, but I lost interest. I think it was because I couldn't see any achievement in what I was doing. So that's why I want a sport. Trouble is I have no real interest in sports other than racing motorbikes, so have no idea where to even start?

Random martial art? Depending on which you choose there are various levels of fitness involved, and various levels of ferociousness required.
Sense of achievement? There are loads of belt-based gradings.

I did Karate for about 2 years and it was rubbish for fitness. Standing around doing drills with the occasional sparing session gets you no where. I also did a short stint doing CXT and that was brutal. Choose a martial art which specifically says it centres on fitness in the blurb.

If you have a mate who also wants to go on the pork life reduction journey with you, I'd recommend badminton. It's fun and easy to start with, and low impact as you start off. Then as you improve the tempo racks up.

Ballroom dancing. Those D list celebrities are always going on about how fit they are and how they've toned up being on Strictly. What's more you can wear a sparkly waistcoat at the next AR and give us a twirl.

that's what karate was like when I went constant drills at 10 quid a lesson then told I needed 2 a week. I declined. I went for the same sort of time span and I didn't learn anything.

American Football?

There is a team very local to you called Swindon Storm, they train on Saturdays. First session is free then £3 a time after that with all kit provided for.

I am possibly thinking of having a go myself.
