Hi all.
When my pointy is on tickover, the display and lights flicker. When I blip the throttle they get brighter. Is this a sign of the battery dying as its only just recently started doing this. (or im a dumb ass and it normally did this, but i've only just noticed!) |

Now I might be wrong, but I'm sure when my reg / rec was on its way out I had simialr symptoms to the ones you are getting.
Might be worth doing a search for a post by Sid Squid that explains how to check your charging circuit is working properly. Have you been having problems with starting or what seems like reluctance to start. Remember this could be a red herring, but I guess it wouldnt hurt to check ?

Sounds about normal to me.
The bike will not be charging below a rpm level (5500rpm for curveys IIRC) so as the revs increase so will the strength of the lights as more current is being generated. If you are worried stick the battery on charge and stop leaving it on tick over. But seriously as Fizz said Sid Squid is the man (thanks again!). |
