.... I picked up a write off curvy yesterday with the intention of converting to a track bike. It has no clocks on it and I am wondering if they are normally needed for the bike to run.....?
I just want to get away with just a tacho. I am considering if I should purchase one or not - and havent had the bike running as yet. |

Clocks aren't needed. I did Silverstone without clocks, lights or fairing.

Just twist them all together, pull out the brown ones and point a blow-lamp at the rest for a bit. I'm sure sooner or later the right bits will fuse together and it'll work a treat*. I had a fiat a long time ago which seemed to have a very similar modification behind the dash. If the fan was on full you knew you were signalling right
![]() *Disclaimer. This will almost certainly end in tears. Seriously there is a circuit diagram on the forum and in the Haynes manual also the curvy is a lot less wired up than the pointy. Clever chap like you should be able to work out what needs to be live and what just needs to be out the way.

Another option is to just use a shiftlight thingyif memory serves me right.
Rob###(sorry can't remember his full Forum name now) did a post on what to do IIRC . If you don't find it, I'll try and search afer the AE. Should be in the Minitwins section. Ben |

Re wiring, nothing much to really do. You have a sub-loom with four connecting blocks and a plug for the speedo.
As you have no speedo, the plug for the speedo obviously can't be plugged into the speedo lol. Just tape it up with loads of insulating tape or summin and that's it. Ben |

Thanks for the tips.. specially you Mark!
Just a quickie before i dig into it - the wiring coming out of the switch gear - left and right (yellow block and left/black block right) - does this go into the clocks? or back into the main loom somewhere....? |
