I "might" be getting a Torque Wrench as a Christmas gift and have been asked what one I would like if I was to get one.
Now, I don't know which ones I should avoid and which ones are good. Preferably I would want one that is reliable and accurate that covers most of the range that the SV bolts need. Not too bothered about having one that goes as far as what the Front Sprocket needs, but at least up to 65Nm for the Rear Axel. I don't want one that's going to be really expensive either. Any recommendations appreciated. |

I'd get a digital one, that's next on my list.

I have had a Halfords 1/2 inch drive one for 10+ years, and it's been faultless in all that time. You can pick one up for in the region of £50-60 (less when they have a sale, or get someone with a trade card!)

I use the Halfords Pro Torque Wrenches. Order on line now and they are 3 for 2 along with other Pro tools, I'm just working on my shopping list...

I'm sure Teng's got their 1/2" drive torque wrenches for about 1/3 off up until January, as its on my shopping list
I've got a 3/8" draper that cost me £25 its never missed a beat. The halfords Pro stuff is normally good, the 3/8" socket set got some abuse until I bought a set of flatsides

Halfords Pro for me too. Mine has been regularly used for the last 6 or 7 years with absolutely no problems.

£70 is probably a little steep for the Halfords one, plus it only goes up to 60Nm.

Thanks beabert. Will look into that one. Good price and sounds like it does the job.
