Default Weston Super Mare - Pier Fire.

See this on the news it’s a real shame I went here 2 years ago and the kids loved the pier. Its was a fun place Im sure will be missed. I hope they rebuild it.

Shame. That doesn't leave much for the tourist trade down there, when you consider they still haven't got permission for the Tropicana development and the tide left some years ago.

A struggling, run-down attraction burnt to the ground.

I bet it was insured....

Well I am usually as sceptical as the rest, but:

"He is absolutely devastated. Mr Michael bought the pier in February and spent around £1m - he's installed a go-kart track, a climbing wall and fitted a bar for the first time.
"His whole plan was to turn it into a premier tourist attraction, in fact he already had. "

That makes it sound like it wasn't an insurance job. Definitely not the right way to go about it anyway!
