May I just say for anyone that went today, what an amazing tribute to those that are brought back, and for those that are always there to honour them.

It was an awesome day - on the route loads of people were cheering and clapping, we had old grannies in wheelchairs, town criers, lord mayors and a soldier saluting.
Arrived at the meeting point at 10:30 and there were bikes everywhere - we didn't leave the airfield to start the ride until 4pm!!! Been home about 30 mins - a long day, and a bit cold but an amazing event to have been a part of.

Hiya Matt!!
We just got in too. Really sorry if you made it back to Sun Inn but we had to shoot on because of the dark Visors. Thanks so much for being our Ride-Out buddies xxxx |

I would like to reiterate what Anna has said, and I think all on the ride have done us proud.
I’m disappointed that I didn’t have a working bike to attend on, but I caught a glimpse of the precession as I went down the M4; it was an awesome sight. |

You know its very humbling to read how proud people are that "we" represented bikers yesterday. To be honest it was a great day and really fun but to put it into context we just showed a solidarity to those who have relations, sons & daughters in the forces. What THEY are doing and how they are literally giving up their lives really make me feel sad that I am being congratulated on spending one day riding my bike through a recognised military hot spot. Don't get me wrong, the message was to show how the whole biking community support what those guys are doing but it still feels a bit uncomfortable.
Hope peeps can understand this?? I'm in no way being negative, I'm just struggling to put things into perspective today. |

Amanda, I understand what you are saying. There's not an easy response, but as you put it "the message was to show how the whole biking community support what those guys are doing" and I'm part of that community. It was to show support not just to the Military communities but also to show support for the community of Wooton Basset. And so while I couldn't be there myself I am grateful that my community represented itself so well.
These comments shouldn't make you feel uncomfortable and I very sorry if they do. I hope that helps you to put the events into perspective. |
