Default Speedys' TS185ER resto-project

This has taken me a while due to funds and time, but finally got it finished this week.

It started like this:

Then ended up like this:

Then it got completely stripped, obviously I'd be here forever posting every photo, so these stages are cut down!

And finally....

I am very pleased with how it came out.

Lozzo, get on with your one now!!!

That's pretty cool, nice job.

Unfortunately I won't be restoring mine, I'm going to leave it as it is because it's too original and in reasonable condition to spoil by restoring it. By spoil I mean take away that patina of age that some bikes acquire over the years. There's no really bad rust, no nasty corrosion and it's not too battered, but it looks used and cared for. I'm going to put a new front (probably used) mudguard on because the one it has is the wrong type and colour (it's aftermarket and black when it should be white) and leave it at that.

I intended to do a bit of green laning on it because it's perfect for the job, but I'll care for it and keep it looking as it does. If I do ever decide to restore it I do have a brand new fuel tank to use, but it's blue not orange.

Thats fair enough!!

I chose to do this as, when I was little, my Dad had one, which, cutting a long story short, got nicked. What we got back after the thieves were caught riding it, was basically a frame, engine and wheels.

So he gave it to me, I stripped it, (I was 9 at the time), and left it in pieces in the back garden! Eventually me and my Dad dit it up, and I used it over the fields as an off roader when I was 11.

That got sold when I was 15 to buy my first "road bike" (Yam RD50MX).............................

Then 3 years ago decided to try and find one, won this one on ebay and 2 years later here it is.

Yeah, if yours is original and tidy Lozzo, I'd leave it as is too!!

Put a photo up of it!!!
