Default My new (old) Bikes. I've been busy!

A sad day when I sold my SV last Saturday. I got what I paid for it in January £2.5k, which was good, and I sold it because I wanted to get a track bike. On the Sunday I drove about 500 miles with a trailer to get a 600 98 SRAD with a GSXR 750 K1 front end, that had been owned by the same guy and ridden on the road and track for the last 10 years. Got a couple of paddock stands and a wet rear tyre too.

I had some money left over so on Tuesday night I drove another few hundred miles to get a road bike. After some knowledgable advice from some orgers and a certain Rictus giving the bike a thorough visual going over I bought the roadbike. (Thanks again Mark). Now both bikes aren't as mint as they might look in the photos but the roadbike is excellent for it's age. 97 ZXR7 Kawasaki, oh and more paddock stands and a spare screen thrown in.

I rode the Kwak to Castle Coombe yesterday to help with The Bike Experience guys and ended up on the track with it, which wasn't the plan. I might post some pics up on the photo thread, but the event didn't go without some minor mechanical embarrassment for me. Anyway, sold one, bought two and after about £100 in petrol, a meal out for my very patient wife, I still have enough money left over for a trackday.

I miss the SV but, it looks like a good deal. BTW the ZXR-7 is a revelation for me. When people say things like "the front end is sooo planted", and "it gives you soooo much more confidence going to corners" , I didn't really know what they were going on about.

This one does though, it's also got a full Akrapovic exhaust, bling green braided lines, Ohlins steering damper (don't think it needs it though), adjustable levers, new rear sets and a very fetching and cheesy personal plate. No crash bungs though, and Maxxis tyres which both worried me a bit yesterday.

Oh and dodgy fuel pump tilt switch that cut out on me at about 100mph. Blooming old bikes!!

Blah, blah here's pics
