Default 2012 Suzuki Sv650s with damaged rod

Hi Guys,
I have 2012 sv with 11k on it and just damaged engine because of wheelies.
looks like the con rod is loose and needs repairs. As far as I know it is very pricey and hard job.
Any ideas is it worth investing money in repairs or just find another engine or say goodby to my beloved Stacey? ;(

From experience if you have movement in the rod at the big end then the short answer is a new engine is the easiest route forward.

I assume you've stripped the engine down to confirm the big end is done?

It is possible to replace the crank and rods, but its a big job. Finding a good secondhand replacement is not easy. New is very expensive, a replacement secondhand engine will be cheaper.

Thanks for quick reply. No not yet the bike is still ride able and makes not too much noise but it is a crank, rod bearing i can feel it
The problem i faced is there are no twin spark plug engines on the market
Twin spark engines started from k8 or k9?
Thanks

The only way to be sure is to strip the engine down. But first drain the oil, see if there is any metal/ copper particles in there. You never know there might be something else amiss.

Not sure when the twin sparks came in. However I would expect that its possible to convert to single spark, though having never done that I wouldn't be able to offer advise.

If it's the crank or rods that are damaged, your present top ends can be fitted to a good SV bottom end.

Sorry, was just saying that my K7 has a twin spark motor. Might help you broaden your search lower than a K8
