Hi,
Instead of replacing/repairing the damaged panels on my fairing I was thinking about replacing the whole thing with a race fairing. Has anyone ever used a race fairing with cut-outs for lights and indicators? Does it work? Anything I should know about race fairings? Any recommendations? Cheers Al |

I've done a couple in the past, most race fairings don't have the internal molded mounts for lights, also dependent on the fairing, the material isn't thick enough to support them and needs building up on the inside, you may also need to use edging strips on the cutouts.
Cheers Mark.

I have a set waiting in the garage to use. The front I'm pretty sure is SV the rear I have no idea about.
Its fiber glass and is a race only fairing (with a catch tray) should look pretty good once I get round to fitting it. But that's a long way off. As there are no light mounting points I intend to drill the front and mount a projector headlight on a custom made bracket endurance style. Not much help am I ![]() All I can say is yes its possible as I've seen others do it , but it will take a bit of work. |

edge strips are like screen trim but you can get them clear, they not only add strength but also cover uneven cutting marks. Cheers Mark

You could maybe import them direct from 2 Wheel Junkie...

Why bother with standard lights, get yourself something different, NC30 light with HID fitted or if on a budget get down to halfords for a pair of projectors, cut the back out of one and fit a H4 or just fit both, 1 up 1 down with relays for dip/main.
And mount the lights off the fairing bracket, no amount of strengthening to the fairing will stop it 'buzzing' and eventually cracking the fibreglass |
