After 12 K brilliant miles the time has come to draw my relationship with the gixer thou K6 to a close. A very, very hard decision to make but I feel it is for the best in the longer term for us both.
We started off so well together, out in the rain sunshine and frost. Hurtling up and around the country in harmony. Many many tyres later and the freshness is still there however she demands too much of me now. Whilst I have got older (if not wiser) she is still like a child thats eaten too many E numbers. She is a very addictive bike on the road but I wish to avoid the over dose. The quicker you go the better it is and the quicker you want to go, but there just has to be a limit. When we go out, I sometimes want to just ride about and admire the vews with other riders but she'll have none of it, she just wants to go and go so we do. If there's a bike in front she will have nothing of it, just has to try and pass it. Keeping her to the speed limits becomes more and more frustrating as she tugs at the leash. So it is with some great sadness that we now part ways and I hope she will find someone who will be able to keep up with her demands on the road. I would love to keep her for a track bike but sadly finances do not permit. Oddly my MT-03 has a similar personality. The new one turns up at the weekend. A far less frenetic bike thats arguabely a better all rounder and should in theory allow me to remain in posession if my licence a tad longer. A bike that alows me to carry stuff with ease but still has the hoon streak if released. A bike that is more comfortable for those slower moments so you don't get aches in the shoulders and wrists. A bike that I'll have a new challenge to master. A bike that is more transport than Hoon Loon, granted less inspiring than the gixer but it will let you take in memories on the way to the destination. Think the Swiss Army Bike (but not the off road trail bit type tool) The bike is the Bandit 1250GT! |

Kinda, I just dont think my 750 has the mad as a box of frogs power than your 1000 has and I never really feel like its going to get me into trouble in the sort of way alot of 1000cc riders describe. either that or I just ride like a complete pansy

commiseration. The K6 will be missed I'm sure. Hehe, but you've got a new bike so it doesn't matter now, go and enjoy.
