Default GSXR front and HID -practical mechanicing help required.

Hey all,

I've got a SK4 pointy, and want to do a few mods to it however my technical know how is seriously limited

The two mods I don't want to attempt by myself are:

Changing the front end for a GSXR(1000?) front end

and

Fitting a HID kit.

I am happy to get all the parts I need, however what I would like is someone to come and help me change the parts over. I am happy to pay the person for their time and will get as involved as I can!

My deadline is to do this by January but the sooner the better!

I can come to you or you can come to me (Gloucestershire).

Would love to see if anyone is interested!

Kind Regards,

George

You might struggle for offers but don't take it personally. Helping out with this kind of stuff can be a bit dodgy for the amateur. Plenty on here have done front end swaps on their own bike but would rather not take the chance of killing a stranger.

If you want my advice, get the SV manual and the appropriate section of the GSXR one. Get your socket set out and get on with it!

Once you've searched all the threads to find out the parts you need, you'll know enough to do the job. If you get stuck you'll get all the help you need on here.

Of course, if you're an attractive young female, now would probably be a good time to mention it.

Well I thought it might be worth a shot, if someone is local and is willing to help me out... hint.. hint :P

As for me.. well i'm quite the opposite haha but still friendly

I'll keep this offer open however sometime in the future I may attempt this with just me and the manual!

Looking forward to any other responces, cheers guys.

As does your avatar!

Anyway if I were to have a go at this myself what kind of timeframe should I expect? Seeing as I am supposed to use this for work 5 days a week!

take a week off work

Nothing worse than rushing to get a job finsihed at midnight sunday so you can make work monday morning. Things get missed, forgotten or done without and it costs a lot more in the long run.

Allow as much time as you can afford.

I've done a front end swap in 2 hours on the drz, its all about having the parts all laid out ready and pre fix all the parts you can (speedo sensor etc) helps that there is feck all to a dirt bike too lol.

I will say that the front end conversion is "in the pipeline" then

Although a HID conversion can't kill me right? :P
