If you mean the piece above the seal, external to the fork, then it's just a push fit, put a knife blade in the join and twist gently.

I think he might be asking how to remove them from the forks. I'm guessing you remove the front wheel and callipers and pull them over the end of the forks. Do they stretch enough for that? Just guessing here.

1st remove the fork.
The dust seals are quite thick and so have very little stretch in them. As Sid Squid says, get a butter knife or similar and run it round the top of the fork lower / dust seal bottom, and work the dust seal up out of the fork lower. Side the seal off the fork and clean up the recess before sliding the replacement on and in.
Refit fork.

Nice one guys gave it a go on a spare set of forks I have, need to do seals but going to wait as I may aswell uprate the forks at the same time.

Anyone know how to get forks springs cheaper than 115?

Linear or progressive I'm not fuses but from what I've read linear will match my needs as I don't hang about and often go on track.

There is every chance that I have misunderstood you. You know you need to replace the oil seals on your forks but have instead replaced the dust seals as you are going to change the springs at a later date?
